A Very Young Family

View from The Guestroom

Look what you can see from my guestroom window: Stone Mountain. You can also tell how close I live to the highway....see the billboards?

Last 4th of July Scottie, Serkan and I watched the fireworks from probably 6 or 7 different cities. It was so cool. My house is sitting so much higher than the others that i can see the whole horizon as far out as possible. It was pretty amazing.

I Hate Flowers

My Azaelas

I know have two azaela plants as edging to my deck. They are blossoming nicely.

The Strawberries are a' comin'

I love watching my strawberries grow. I baby them the most during the winter months so they don't croak. Guess what, my first strawberries are blossoming. I can't wait. I just have to make sure those doves don't chomp on them before I do :-)

A Grand Opening

My Bathroom is complete!!!!!Take a look.The cabinet/sink/faucet/mirror set is Decolav.

The wall color is Bay Sands.

The floor is natural slate.

The light is Sea Gull.

I am so happy the bathroom is complete. I am very happy with the outcome and all my choices. I wish I had the money to start the next project. I guess I can wait until February/March.

I Have a Sink......

Here is an update to my bathroom. I put in the cabinet. The counter top is granite. Dang is it heavy! I have installed the sink and the faucet too. I just have not hooked anything up underneath as I need some stuff from the store first (or maybe a plumber, not sure yet). One thing i can't figure out is the sink plug. I can't get it opened and I don't see how it would normally work? Maybe someone at Lowe's can help me or maybe I'll go to the manufacture's website to see if they have a help section.

I will soon have a working bathroom!

Gerber Daisy

With Grout

Here is the floor with grout. Ain't it perty. The floor in this picture looks shiny. That is because at that point it was wet. I am working on getting the haze to go away. In a few days I should be able to start putting in my cabinet/sink/faucet. It's getting really close to being complete. I'm really excited.

Scottie and Serkan Adopt

Did I get your attention??? HEHEHEHEEEE. No they didn't adopt but this picture sure is cute. I wish I had this picture for my April 1st blog. So I guess I'm a bit late but still funny. Sebastian sure was comfy in Serkan's arms though. I'm glad Scottie and Serkan got to meet Sebastian and see Amy and Raphael.

Rated R - for Violence

Ok so yesterday I was sitting at my computer and Summer was sitting at the door watching the birds. All the sudden I heard this big thump so I turned and looked at Summer, who had turned and looked backwards. As I was turning back around I caught a cat starting back down the deck stairs......with one of those fat Doves in it's mouth. I couldn't believe it while feathers were still in the air. I kicked the door and the cat trotted off with it's dinner, feathers making a trail up the side of the hill.

Today I went out on the deck and there was the cat, waiting. I shewed it away and any bird I see land on the deck floor I also scare away. I put a long planter in front of the stairs, hoping that will help the birds.

I LOVE watching the birds but don't want my deck to be a death trap :-(

Jones Bridge

In Atlanta, there are many state parks along the Chattahoochee River. One is called Jones Bridge. Jones bridge was used between 1904 and 1922 as a toll bridge to cross the river. In the early 1920's no cost state funded bridges took over and made Jones Bridge obsolete. In about 1940 half the span disappeared (probably for the value of the metal). The skeleton of the leftover bridge is still standing. I think it's pretty cool looking. This is a nice park to take a walk.

What Street Do You Live On?

This time last year, my Mom and I went to Phoenix, Arizona. We went to visit some family. We spent alot of time catching up. We went to this little town/shopping area. I saw this street sign and just had to take a picture of it. I laughed so hard.

Cherry Blossoms

This time two years ago, My parents and I went on vacation to Washington D.C. What we didn't realize , it was Cherry Blossom season. They were so beautiful. I don't believe I have ever walked so much in my life. It was really cool and we had a most fabulous time.

This year - Memphis and/or Charleston.

Easter Lunch

Scottie, Serkan and I had Easter lunch together. It's not your normal Easter meal but we spent the afternoon together so that's all that mattered ( you know what I mean). We had cheeseburgers, potato salad, chips, coke and brownies. Scottie made the cheeseburgers on his brand new grill. He did real good.

Bathroom Update

Today my friend Raphael came over to put the flooring down in my half bath. It's looking really great. He showed me how to put down tile. I got to use the wetsaw. It was so cooold outside. I could only make about 3 cuts at once before I felt like frostbite was setting in :-)~ He will have to come back sometime after 2 days to put the grout in. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Thank you Raphael for taking time away from your wife and new baby to help me out. I really appriciate it. (And Thank YOU Amy for letting me borrow him for the day, only wish you would have come.)

Post for Friday, April 6th

Sorry this one is late. Last night instead of posting on here, I talked to my mom on the phone. Our phone calls aren't short.....at all. We laughed because it ended up being a 3 hour 34 minute conversation. We usually end up talking until one or both of us HAVE to go to bed.

Well, this picture is pretty blurry but you get the gist. My car rolled 66666. I wonder, for that one mile, was my car more than evil? Come to think of it, my camera was acting up the whole mile. I got this picture literally a few seconds before it changed to 66667. How weird.

Father and Son

I went today to visit my friends and the new baby at their house. I sat and held him for over an hour just watching him:-)

This pictures is of father and son. Maybe they are having a heart to heart. I'm sure it's just the beginning for those. Sebastian looks like he is really thinking about the things his daddy is telling him. Maybe he's just thinking "It's not morningtime, the person with the long hair has my food!"

Cross Stitch

I have finally finished my most recent cross stitch project. I have fun making these and Michael's has really good frames, especially when you get one of those 40% off one item coupons. This one is for my friend's baby (of course if you have been paying attention at all, you know and have seen the progress of this baby!)

Convenience

Lookie here......a toliet in the hall way. How convenient :-) But remember, if you're gonna go #2, use the guest bathroom (unless there are guests of course heheheh)

Bath Interrupted

Doesn't it look like I've interrupted Summer's bath? Not yet but right after this she stopped midlick and gave me this look. Well, that's what you get when you don't go TO the bathroom to take a bath :-) And, she's just so darn cute!

Keep Moving

Do you know what this sign means? I do but it seems that most people do not. If you see a sign that says keep moving, why would you stop? HMMMMMM Of course on the other hand, to me, it seems that sometimes this sign is used in weird or scary intersections (at least were I live).
