Ok so yesterday I was sitting at my computer and Summer was sitting at the door watching the birds. All the sudden I heard this big thump so I turned and looked at Summer, who had turned and looked backwards. As I was turning back around I caught a cat starting back down the deck stairs......with one of those fat Doves in it's mouth. I couldn't believe it while feathers were still in the air. I kicked the door and the cat trotted off with it's dinner, feathers making a trail up the side of the hill.
Today I went out on the deck and there was the cat, waiting. I shewed it away and any bird I see land on the deck floor I also scare away. I put a long planter in front of the stairs, hoping that will help the birds.
I LOVE watching the birds but don't want my deck to be a death trap :-(

OH NO! Now you know how I felt when Heidi started eating our birds at the feeder! I felt like I lured them to their death. Sorry that happened :o(
Maybe the planter will help the little birdies.
Sorry, you had to see all this happen right before your eyes.
