Finally Caught Up :-)

When I got home Tuesday night, all three kitties were waiting by the door. they must have heard my car. I was so happy to see them and to know that Apollo can be a good boy with no supervision.

For Monday, August 27th

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES!!!!!!!!!

Today was Miryam's first day of Kindergarten. Diana took her and walked her in to her class. Diana was taking pictures of her and she sat down at her new desk. Finally she told Diana, "Nana, you are being silly. You can go now". What a big girl and so funny.
When Diana got back, we woke the birthday boy up, got ready and went to breakfast at IHOP. He got a free sundae. (yes after having pancakes....) After breakfast, we took him to Toys R Us to get some birthday presents. I told he he could pick something out for me to buy. He's getting older and I have to travel so it's easier this way.

Later, we went to pick up Miryam at school. She said she had a really good day and the only thing she could remember is that the teacher made them stand in a line (for what we don't know).

Then we took them to Chuck E Cheese to spend the rest of James' birthday fun. Diana's friend, Heathur and her two kids (one is James' best friend, Holland). Spent a couple hours there and then headed home for a little wind down and bedtime.

For Sunday, August 26th

Today we went and hung out at Diana's Mom's house. We munched on some ice cream. Then we had to run by the grocery store to get lunches for Miryam's first week of school. She is so excited. That is so great. We had to get back early so Miryam could get to bed at a reasonable hour so she could be ready for school in the morning.

For Saturday, August 25th

Poor Diana's air decided to act up during the night and we woke up to a sweatshop. We were worried because it was Saturday and how much would that cost??? Well, her air guy came out and fixed it pretty quickly and just in time for the bday party. We had a great time. James got a really cool 2.5 foot Pirates of the Caribbean boat a treasure chest and the clothes I bought him. Earlier we had gotten these moustaches at Party City. We all put them on and had a laughing crazy fit with these things. I personally laughed so hard i almost pee'd my pants. I giggle just thinking about it now.

For Friday, August 24th

Today I got to wake up with some really great people. We went shopping for James' little family birthday party happening on Saturday. We had a lot of fun running around. We also had to go to Miryam's (Diana's niece) school for "Meet the Teacher". Miryam is starting Kindergarden on Monday. Her teacher's name is Mrs Gagnon-Hartman. That is heck of a name for a 5 year old to remember.

For Thursday, August 23

OK so my plane was suppose to take off at 7pm. I was doing good, it was only suppose to be half an hour late to take off. WELL, once on the plane, there were many delays. Then came a really bad storm. It was crazy because they would decide to turn the take off runway around twice so we taxied to one end of the runway, down to the other end and then back to the original side. I took off a total of over 2 1/2 hours late (while sitting on the plane 2 hours of that time). We actually took off at the same time that I was suppose to be landing in Dallas. Poor Diana had two toddlers (4 and 5 years old) up WAY past their bedtimes. I finally had dinner around midnight :-(

The Coca-Cola Bear

Doesn't this picture look like the Cocacola bear commercial? The bear kept rubbing it's face, kinda like a doggie does when their face itches. It was so cute.

Salt & Pepa

Today I was at the mall. I was passing the Disney Store, which i find isn't as good as it use to be. WELL, as I was passing, i glanced in and there was a whole table of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" stuff. WOW, I had to go in. There was an Oogie Boogie cookie jar, a clock, a Jack Skelington hand picture holder, a candle and Lock, Shock & Barrel salt and pepper shaker. I had to have the salt and pepper shaker set (cookie jar would be way cool but it's too expensive). Lock and Barrel are the shakers, Shock doesn't come off, just decor. This was defiantly an impulse buy but for anyone that knows me knows I love The Nightmare Before Christmas.

My Grandfather

Today was my Grandfather's Birthday. If he were still alive, he would be 85. He was much of a loner and really didn't let too many people in but I loved him all the same. That's just who he was.

Where's the Smurfs?

If you watch long enough, you might see some Smurfs. This picture was actually taken at Cypress Gardens in Central Florida. It reminded me of something out of the Smurfs cartoon.

Full of Life?

Ain't this the most beautiful tree you have ever seen in your entire life? Well, it's mine and I'm just so happy to have it in my front yard shading my house from the 100+ degree weather.

Geeze, can I get any more sarcastic? This tree was alive and full of leaves when I moved here two years ago. It is SO dead now, the bark is even falling off of it. The landscapers put a pink ribbon around it. (there are other tree's in the 'hood with pink ribbons too) I'm not sure if they are going to replace it, the HOA people are going to send me a letter to tell me to replace it OR if they are just doing a bit of decorating. Of course it would be stupid to replace it now since it won't be able to get watered as needed. I wish they would just tell me what is in their thoughts for this tree.

Watch out Birdies.....

This is pretty funny. I always see Summer sitting there stalking the birds outside. BUT, never Cybill, until now. Those birds are pretty lucky. There is a door between them and the stalkers. Look how flat Summer can get her ears. Do you think the birds can't see you if you hide your ears? HEHEHEHEHE

A Thirteen Pounder

On Friday I had lunch with Amy and Sebastian. We treated ourselves to PF Changs....yyuummmmiiee!!!!!!! Sebastian was an excellent little one. He is so cute and is now weighing in at 13 lbs. He let Amy and I catch up on what's been going on the past two weeks. It's two weeks because she is a great friend and comes to have lunch with me every payday. (THANK YOU AMANDA!!!)

Those Crazy Chinese babies

Check out this label from my new shower liner. The way I read it, we need to keep these liner packages away from babies and children made in China. But no where else in the world????

Hot as.........

Oh my, today was hot as hell outside. I have a thermometer outside on my back deck. At about 11ish, it showed 102. At 2ish, that darn thing was registering at 111.5.

This picture is proof......now mind you, it was in direct sunlight but still....

My strawberries are not liking this much heat. The soil is wet but they are still very droopy. I have tried to move them to a part of the deck that doesn't have that much direct sunlight.

What's the Focus?

Well, in this picture, I was focusing and taking a picture of this pretty cherry blossom tree. It just so happens that the White House is in the background. Yes, of course I knew it was there. I just think this picture turned out really well. I mean, most people would only care about the White House and make it the focal point. Not I.......Dare to be different, I say :-)

Mom and Dad's Favorite Place

My Mom and Dad LOVE the Fox Theatre. On one visit, I took them to a Saturday tour of The Fox. That was pretty interesting. They will fly up for the weekend (only once a year)just to see a musical at The Fox. This year they came up to see "Dreamgirls". Last year it was "Rent". Yeah, they could see them in Orlando or Tampa but why? This way, they get to go to the Fox AND they get to see two of their kids and grandpets. They deserve to do nice things for themselves. It's about time.

I love when they come to Atlanta for a visit.

Happy Birthday Richie

Today is my big brother Richie's 40th birthday. Thank God for great genes. He sure the heck doesn't look 40. He has the wisdom of 40, the looks of 30, the energy of 20 and in his own words, the mind set of a 15 year old. That boy is pure craziness. I love him dearly.

Where's the Fire?

So there is plenty of earth, lots of air and some water. Where is the fire? Well, there was a fireplace at the Starbucks where we went for hotchocolate every night but that doesn't count for this picture, now does it.

Home Improvements

Do you remember the TV show "Home Improvements"? There was the neighbor, Wilson, you only saw from the eyes up as he was always behind something (mostly the wooden fence).

This picture is of my friend /coworker, Kellie. She sits directly across from me. This is about as much as I see of her alot of the day. I didn't realize how "Wilson" it was until i took this picture.

Band Geeks Forever

Back in the day, i took band in school. I played the saxophone. I took band class all through Junior and High school.

This picture is of my friends Rebecca and Barbara. We were going to Westwood Jr High at the time. I believe we were about to march in the Citrus Festival parade. We had just gotten new uniforms that year. On a side note: I also got braces soon after too....hehehehe.

A Young Couple

Take a look at this picture. This is Diana and Wayne....BM (before marriage) They came to visit Wayne's family in Florida. I was still working at Disney at the time. So, we all spent a day there. Wayne's brother Jason came along too. This was the first time I had met Wayne. This picture was on June 7, 1994 (thanks Daisy). Wayne sure had alot of hair then.....he shaves his head now (and at one point him and James had the same hair....because James was maybe a year old. heheheheheh)

A Month

A month ago today Apollo joined my family. I can't believe I found such an adorable kitty that makes me laugh so much. I have found this kitty watching TV (i am not kidding....literally watching TV. he stopped watching when he realized I was watching him). I hope to get a picture of that sometime. He likes to get into my recycle carton (the carton that water bottles are sold in). He slides this thing all around the kitchen. He chases Summer around. Oh and he likes to play hide and seek / peek a boo.

He's definitely a joy.
